Hello all, today we are interviewing a marketing expert sharath, who has an experience of over 10 years in digital marketing. He has done tremendous work in delivering good work in his company by designing powerful funnels. Even though he is good in all fields of marketing, he is acknowledged for his work in paid advertising, automation and designing funnels. Ok, let's start the interview.r
Me: Hello Sharath, It's nice to meet you!
Sharath: Hello, Pleased to meet you too
Me: Firstly, appreciate for the work you are delivering in terms of automation and designing the profitable funnels for the company

Me: Okay Let’s start with our interview. And let us start with the basic question, So my first question is what do you mean by marketing?r
Sharath: In my view marketing is all about selling. And branding, providing value, advertising, planning, all these things that are done or designed in order to sell our product or service. Anything you do, the end thing is selling. r
Me: Yes, I agree with you.r
Me: Okay and my second question is What is the difference between traditional marketing and digital marketing?r
Sharath: Traditional or digital whatever the terms we use it is just a medium that we do our marketing practices. For example if you are doing a brand awareness campaign for your brand, we may use billboards, pamphlets, tv or radio commercials in traditional marketing. If it is digital marketing, we use paid, email, seo, social media to fulfill our goal. If you observe, we are only changing the medium that's it. We can use the same video that we use for tv commercials and run ads on social media or youtube. The content, creative whatever we use for digital we can use it for traditional and vice versa. In the past we used to use one type of medium, now we are using digital, tomorrow it can be any technology that comes in.r
Me: Hmm nice and my next question is you are more focused on automation and funnels. What is that and how is it going to affect the marketing? r
Sharath: Well this both automation and funnel marketing is going to change the future of marketing. Firstly, funnels are not a new concept. This is done from ages. Before the 20th century they may not have heard about the word funnels but our ancestors have implemented it. Because funnels are nothing but a process that we follow in implementing the task. In the 20th century the funnel terminology came into enlightenment. And as this technology grows there are so many paths that we can take to complete a task. But all the paths are not soft finishers. Some may be a wrong path or some paths or costlier than the outputs. To prevent this we follow funnels and in the future there will be N number of ways to complete a particular task in marketing.r
Me: Can you give us an example or understand it better?r
Sharath: Yes, For example let us assume that we are using google and facebook ads to promote our products and assume that we have 4 different sets of products. We spend money to collect data of the customers in their respective interested products out of these 4 products. And also on facebook we do the same, spend money and collect data. Let's assume I spent one lakh on google ads to gather a ten thousand audience and also on facebook I used one lakh and collected ten thousand audience. But I cannot retarget twenty thousand people on google ads because i don't have data from facebook. This is because of using the wrong funnel. A good funnel here will combine both the networks and exchange the data between two channels and that helps in saving money. And this funnel has to be strong moving forward as the technology is growing and we will be having millions of paths lying in front of us. But we need to choose the right one to save time and money.r
Me: And what about automation?r
Sharath: Automation is also going to change the future of marketing as well. Automation is nothing but simplification. Computers do our repetitive and larger tasks. In marketing data takes a major role. Automation helps in organizing the data so that it will be easy for us to pull and analyze the data whenever we want. Not only organizing, In future the automation computer will be helpful to humans in analyzing the data as well and also it will suggest to us how to use this data for marketing.r
